The morning after Jacob killed his turkey, Donnie Sr. shot a bird just off the roost that did perfect for the camera.  The bird had just quit flopping when Donnie Jr. and Philip were off to try and double up on another group of birds.

The next field over, there were eight long beards in a field with no hens.  Donnie and Philip got set up quick with the birds already moving slowly their way.  Philip let out a soft yelp to keep them coming.

When the birds finally got about 15 yards, Jacob gave Donnie and Philip the go ahead to shoot.  Only problem was the wind was blowing so hard, Philip couldn’t hear what Jacob was saying.  Finally, after Jacob was yelling at Philip only five yards away to shoot, Donnie and Philip counted to three and shot.  Turns out, Donnie had two birds lined up and filled his two bird limit with one shot Philip killed one too.

What we learned:  When filming in windy situations, stay close to the hunter.  These turkeys almost got away because we couldn’t communicate in harsh conditions.
